I'm a Fan of Reboots

Well, I'm going to lose some serious nerd cred, but I'm just going to say it...I'm a fan of reboots. I also don't mind remakes. That's right, the guy who complains about so much and yet so little, actually likes reboots. Why, you might ask. Well, let's see if you noticed this little tidbit the last couple weeks. One of the most talked about original movies of the year is Sharknado starring Tara Reid and the Dad from Home Alone. Sure it is a TV science fiction cheese-fest, but it's an original idea.  And since it wasn't another studio reboot, a low-budget cheesy sci-fi flick became a nationwide phenomenon.

Lightsabers, Mutants, and Laser Pistol Wielding Racoons...Oh My!

2013...we potentially will have Star Trek into Darkness, Iron Man 3, Pacific Rim, The Wolverine, Kick-Ass 2, Thor: The Dark World, Man of Steel, RED 2, Elysium, Oblivion, 300: Rise of an Empire, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Riddick, Smurfs 2, and I, Frankenstein. Some look to be excellent, others I haven't heard much about. But all have the potential to be magical films that take the viewer on an imaginative journey...with the exception of the Smurfs of course. But this post isn't about the movies of 2013...I'm looking further ahead into the future of some of the most gigantic franchises in history to reveal upcoming rumors about their shared movie universes and confirmed announcements about their upcoming films.
