I think with what Netflix is doing with House of Cards, Lilyhammer, and Arrested Development and Amazon with it's original programming and now having the Zombieland TV show that cable and broadcast networks may start paying attention to this other medium and stop focusing so much on Nielsen ratings. Or at least I hope so.

I could see crowd funding (Kickstarter campaigns) to start changing the way we view television in the future. Just like how crowd funding helps Indie films and musical artists gain financial support for their art. If I heard about a Kickstarter campaign to resurrect some of these "cancelled-too-soon" shows, I'd shell out a couple of bucks. Say I donate a certain amount, then I get the episodes of shows via digital download or DVD. It could happen. Maybe. I don't know the logistics of the law and media and business finance. Maybe that should be my tagline. As for Wrestlemania, I did a preview of that the week prior. I said that either Y2J/Punk or Sheamus/Bryan will steal the show. And, I think it will be Sheamus and Bryan who steal the show. My predictions are that Sheamus wins, Punk wins (even though I love Y2J, but last year 2 heels, the Miz and Alberto Del Rio, won the belts...so this year I predict that 2 faces win the belts). I could be wrong though. I think the streak remains and this will be the Taker's last hurrah. I think the 12 man tag match is dumb...and hope that both teams lose and Shane O'Mac takes control of both shows (never going to happen BTW). Orton and Kane should be a good match (RKO wins) and Big Show and Rhodes will not be very good (Show wins). Diva match is pointless and I think the Rock v. Cena is a joke (a very elaborate April Fools joke). If it happens, Cena wins with the help from the Miz, and the crowd will cheer Rocky Rocky. Cena turns heel.

I will not be ordering it. I haven't ordered Wrestlemania since they raised the price from $35. Me and five friends used to split that cost. Now, we all have grown up and have kids...so we don't blow that money. Plus, I don't have cable...only netflix and Hulu for me. And I can't remember the last live event I went to...the best show I ever saw was WCW Nitro a long time ago in Minneapolis. I've gone to a RAW and Smackdown in Omaha, NE and other shows in Sioux City, IA...they were fun but Nitro had such a different environment (during commercials, the Nitro girls kept the enthusiasm going). I remember going to see Macho Man, the Honky Tonk Man, the Ultimate Warrior, and Jake the Snake in Lincoln, Omaha, and Sioux City when I was a youngster. Those were fun! Or maybe I was just young.
And if you couldn't tell, I grew up in Nebraska...GO HUSKERS (for football) and I live in Minnesota now...GO GOPHERS (for basketball) LOL.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12585803365360848305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4969757677028868885.post-14817173304241996272012-03-26T22:51:48.447-05:002012-03-26T22:51:48.447-05:00You touched on alot of subjects, but i'll choos...You touched on alot of subjects, but i'll choose to talk about the one least talked about and that is Wrestlemania. It seems this years event is turning out to be the best one since they had the Hardy Boys in the Tables,Ladders,& Chairs match.Personally i think the best match will be Kane vs Orton, the less hyped match at WM.The wildcard matchs as i call it.I see the streak continuing for the Undertaker, dont ask me how but i just know it.Jericho will get the belt from CM Punk or im wishing he will to see if Punk turns into a alcholic like the storyline teases. And yes that showdown with Rock vs Cena lol...The Rock will beat Fruity Pebbles..i mean John Cena and that will start Cenas turn into a bad guy which i don't think will happen completely until around Survivor Series in November. But with all that anticipation let me say i will not be ordering the pay-per-view.$59.95 are you crazy? Maybe if i knew eleven other people who liked wrestling we could each pay $5.00 a piece, but i don't so the shit ain't happening. And the people i know down the street got caught for having free cable, damnit you can't go telling everybody now can you? Somebody will snitch eventually.Oh well!Me & another friend might go when it comes to our city in another 35 days or so,his son is huge wrestling fan and we haven't been to a live event since 1996,and yea WWE sucked big time at that point right before the attitude era begun. So my question to you is are you ordering Wrestlemania and what are your predictions for the matches i mentioned? Initially, I thought of Stone in the role of a Ghostbuster, but then I thought Stone would be a better fit as the receptionist with her sarcastic and snide yet witty (dare I say, snarky?) commentary like Janine (Ghostbusters...what do you want?). I agree that they need to have some great special effects and awesome camera work. My issue would be making things shiny and hip like Men in Black. That's what made the proton packs awesome, they look like someone built them in their basement. I think that their equipment will have a lot of improvements based on how modern day technology has improved, but I don't want it to look like iPhone gadgetry. I was going to write that the Firehouse looked the same on the outside but inside it was drastically improved, but then I thought if anything, they'd build a lab and containment unit that was offsite. That's what I was trying to convey with Egon and Kal Penn working together...I wanted them to be a separate entity outside of the field agents office. I feel as if the Ghostbusters company has grown in 20 years to expand to two offices and a laboratory/containment area, but hadn't grown enough to make them look like futuristic spectral ghost chasers.
I do hope this film gets made and it is an adventure unlike the original two films. And I agree completely about some sort of giant monster reigning terror at the end (that's why both offices combine forces). I was thinking the creature would go after Washington D.C. or something like that. Who knows. I just hope this movie gets made! Thanks for reading!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12585803365360848305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4969757677028868885.post-25897523232041272242012-03-03T11:59:23.348-06:002012-03-03T11:59:23.348-06:00Glad you liked my ideas. It was so hilarious that the network was forced to cancel it before it finished airing all 13 episodes. If you liked Fanboys, then you'd probably enjoy that show. I saw all the episodes on Hulu and it just kept getting better and better. But I think Fogler is perfect fit for the Ghostbusters legacy...and Melissa McCarthy and Chris Pratt are pretty good fits too.
I actually thought about writing McLovin as Egon's son at one point, but then I realized that they never mentioned any of the Ghostbusters' lives outside of work (other than Venkman). I think that Ray and Egon were married to their work. And Winston, like I said, seemed like he was grounded enough to move on to other things such as a public office. I'm sure he probably did get married and have kids, but as of the film in 1989, they hadn't mentioned that, so his kids would be under 22 years in age. Whereas Oscar was a baby in the 1989 film, so he'd be either graduating college or been working for a few years. My idea was for him to have graduated college while working part-time as the Ghostbusters assistant without Dana knowing this...so when she sees him at the Firehouse, she freaks out a bit (sub-plot). I was already getting long winded in my post, so I eliminated writing that idea.
As for the WWE, in my blog prior to this one, I mentioned the CM Punk - Chris Brown twitter rumble. I think its a ploy by the WWE to get Chris Brown to appear at Wrestlemania and thought if it was, Brown should face Beth Phoenix. I think this is a dream celebrity match-up just as big as HHH v. Undertaker in Hell in a Cell, Y2J v. CM Punk, and Cena v. the Rock.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12585803365360848305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4969757677028868885.post-56277447052736082192012-03-03T08:58:17.852-06:002012-03-03T08:58:17.852-06:00Hello there,
