This is the end...

It's that time of the year again...season finale time. And, this concept is the one thing that regular television viewing has as a benefit over streaming an entire season of a show on Netflix or Hulu Plus. The reason: Emotion. When burning through an entire season (or multiple seasons) of a show on-line, you don't have that same emotional connection to the characters as you do when tuning into these characters lives on a weekly basis year after year.

Viva La Netflix!

Fringe, Attack of the Show, and 30Rock already aired their series finales as shows like the Office, Breaking Bad, Merlin, and Spartacus plan on wrapping up their fan favorite series within the year. It's the time of year when we learn if our favorite shows will continue on or be shopped around and potentially saved by another network or on-line streaming company.

The Cancellation of Apt. 23

After hearing about the cancellation (well the removal of the show from ABC's mid-season schedule with 8 more episodes left but not "officially" cancelled, yet) of Don't Trust the B in Apt 23, my wife and I were talking with my brother-in-law and his wife about the network pulling the plug. Our major complaint was how ABC showed the episodes out of order that screwed with the timeline of employment, relationships, and James Van Der Beek’s Dancing with the Stars gig. It's an annoying habit that we noticed happened on other ABC shows like Happy Endings...not to mention shows on other networks. So why does this happen?

The Point V2. - Vol. 6 - "Cutting the Cord"

Recently, my wife and I decided to turn in our DVR to release us from the contracts of cable (and those expensive bills). I've had a relationship with cable for most of my adult life. I've had a digital cable and a DVR since I first heard about them. Full disclosure, I did do some experimenting with DishNetwork's DVR service for a year or so, but it didn't work out. I broke up with DishNetwork after we bought our house surrounded by a handful of tall trees. Growing up, my family either had an antenna or satellite television because we lived outside of the city limits, but the minute I moved out on my own, I had cable. With this all being said, we aren't giving up on televison. That would be crazy. No, we're moving on in this age of technology and only streaming our shows on-line.

Fall TV Death Pool - The Hollywood Reporter

I heard about this TV Death Pool on the radio yesterday morning, and then yesterday afternoon, I heard that NBC had already axed "The Playboy Club." I know more cancellations are coming just like last year when "My Generation" and "Lonestar" were cancelled after only a couple of weeks.
